The Framework V2

A clear vision for what districts and schools across the state do to ensure an excellent education for all Texas students.

The Effective School Framework

How the Framework Works

The Effective School Framework (ESF) is an interconnected model that shows how strong leadership, aligned systems, and student-centered practices work together to drive improved outcomes.

Foundational Elements

The model begins with the Foundational Element: planning and performance management through strong leadership, which establishes the vision, alignment, and continuous improvement necessary to drive results.

Critical Enabling Systems

This foundation enables the Critical Enabling Systems: talent retention and strategic staffing, instructional leadership and capacity building, and campus finance and operations which ensure districts and campuses have the people, structures, and resources needed to operate effectively.

Student Experience Elements

When these systems are aligned, they strengthen the Student Experience Elements: integrated student support systems and a multi-tiered academic experience, that shape how students experience school each day.

Strong Student Outcomes

When these systems are aligned, they strengthen the Student Experience Elements: integrated student support systems and a multi-tiered academic experience, that shape how students experience school each day.

Explore the ESF Levers

The ESF defines 6 Levers that are essential in high-performing campuses. Each lever includes:

District Commitments

District commitments describe what local education agencies do to ensure that schools are set up for success.

Essential Actions

Essential Actions (EA) describe what the most effective schools do to support powerful teaching and learning.

Key Practices

Each Essential Action includes a set of key practices (KP) that define what the essential action entails when implemented with fidelity.
